According to the Environmental Defense Group, more than 4 billion pounds of chemicals are released into the environment each year, 72 million pounds of which are known carcinogens (cancer causing). In 2005 the Centers for Disease Control reported 148 chemicals measured in the blood and urine of Americans. The Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York tested the blood and urine of nine volunteers. They found a total of 167 industrial compounds; that's an average of 91 chemicals per person. 76 of these are known carcinogens, 94 are toxic to the brain and nervous system, 86 effect human hormones, and 79 cause birth defects and/or abnormal development.

How does all of this impact our health? These chemicals, as well as heavy metals in the environment, can lead to serious illnesses. Because they effect so many body systems and tissues, they go often misdiagnosed as PMS, mood swings, depression, heart disease, Alzheimer's, ALS/PLS. Vaccinations in the US still contain mercury as a chemical constituent and a chemical compound called thimerisol. Worse yet, these chemicals don't have to kill us in order to have an adverse impact on our lives. Chemical toxicity can contribute to or even amplify symptoms such as, forgetfulness, poor concentration, bleeding gums, constipation, diarrhea, headaches, restlessness, irritability, elevated blood pressure and heart rate, difficulty breathing, chest pain, sleep disorder, dizziness, muscle weakness, tremors. Most of these are on the top of the National Poison Control's list of most common symptoms of poisoning.

So think about possible chemical sources in your life (on the job, at home, etc.), and endeavor to reduce prolonged or frequent exposure to these sources. Your body needs water to detoxify these chemicals, so drink at least half your body's weight in ounces each day. Then, find an effective detoxifying agent. We recommend only a GMP rated product that can remove heavy metals, chemicals and microbials, and can do so with minimal or no effects of a healing crisis.Heavy metals are stored deep in the tissue, so this cleanser must be able to bind the metals without harm to the tissue. The most effective tissue cleanser we use that does all that is should and more is the Oncoplex by Xymogen. Whatever products you choose to use, make regular cleansing a part of your overall routine of self care. And choose BodyBalance Techniques as your guide to health and wellness.
